I create portraits of individuals, families and children with an emphasis on capturing the essence of my subject. I prefer simplicity and I only use props that have a connection with my subject, such as a child’s favorite toy or elements from my subject’s life.
I shoot in the studio and on location, such as your home or any location you like or have a connection with. I do not force my subjects into uncomfortable, contrived poses. A relaxed, comfortable subject results in a portrait that will capture what those closest to that person recognize and like about that person. When photographing children, this is even more important. I am patient with the most energetic of children and I allow them space to be themselves. The results? View the samples below.
